Talking With Missing Animals, ALL Can Do This!

Continued from Part 3
Animal Communication— Part 4
As we continue to study the different methods of communicating with animals, let us consider those animals that are missing. This type of communication requires you to be in a place where you are not dealing with desperation and depression.
Many people that contact me regarding missing animals are desperate, and more and more animal communicators are stepping away and not handling these cases because of this. This desperation can actually block the energy and communication and professionals must pull away to be able to connect with the animal.  It is the only way we can keep the energy calm when approaching a missing animal. Yes, I realize the guardian is heartbroken and the hurt is very acute, however in order to connect an energy that is loving and at peace is best. Meditation is a proven method to RAISE THE VIBRATION and allow animals to speak freely. The heart-energy-bridge of communication will flounder with a vibration that is sad, depressed and low. I encourage all guardians to meditate for 15 minutes daily and try to stay positive and send their animal love and light, as this will help all during this stressful time:)  To link up with a missing animal, follow these simple steps.

Select a photo of the missing animal and make sure there are no other animals or people (this can confuse the connection) in it. If possible, choose one with eyes that are visible. If you are familiar with the animal, no photo is needed, just use your memory. Next, try to collect a photo of the animal's favorite sleeping area and the pathway or door that you wish it to return to. Study the photos and once you can remember the images, close your eyes and begin.

Sit quietly with the picture and imagine yourself beside the missing animal. Feel the warmth of its fur (or whatever it is covered in), the sound of its beating heart, the look in their eyes, their scent and how you "feel" when you look at their photo. This is the energy you will use to "link up" with the missing animal.  You will be using the same methods described previously, so let us review.
I outlined it in Part 1.

You start with a prayer of silence asking for protection as you open up to the ether world. This is what I use, you can choose your own wording:
To my highest guides and helpers second to none
Please protect me at this time of meditation
Knowing that everything that is said, heard, felt or sensed is with absolute love
as I blend with my conscious and become one with my spirit.
I wish to communicate with (insert animal's name) and I ask for your assistance in bringing this about.
I thank ALL THAT IS.

Continue with your eyes closed or open (I do it eyes closed as it keeps me in the zone.) Next, begin sending thoughts of LOVE to the animal. See this love energy as white light washing over it. Feel the connection as this white light continues to bathe the animal and just let yourself sink into this sensation of absolute LOVE. You may begin to feel a bit emotional, this is perfectly normal. This emotion is your heart energy opening up and blending with this lovely being.

Ask permission to speak with the animal. You may get a sensation of a wall or a block, if so, thank it and try again later. You have just felt what it is to get a "busy signal" or "not now." You may get a warm comfortable sensation and this is a "yes."

Sit perfectly still in this space and ask the animal if it can describe the surroundings and how it found itself to be where it is now. Some people actually "feel" body temperature shifts, prickly skin, heart flutters, ears ringing, etc. Do not be alarmed, this is just your physical body blending with the vibrational energy of the animal.  You are both energy and although you are physical, you both connect through your beautiful spirits. You may get a scent, a sound, an image, a feeling or a thought. Just sit in silence and allow the animal to send you its response. If all is silent, that is perfectly normal, do not become frustrated.

Now it is time send the image of the door or path. See the door or path floating within a bubble and send it to the animal. See the animal trotting toward the path or door and send this image to them. Use your heart energy and lovingly ask the animal to please return to this place, if they choose to. No one can force an animal to return, they have a free will just like all humans. You are encouraging the animal to come back, you are not going after it or tracking it. Some animal communicators use tracking, however through experience I have come to learn that this often becomes a wild goose chase as the animal sends images or messages of a place that they may have visited along their journey.

Next, repeat this process with the image of the animal's favorite sleeping spot. Assure them that their safe place is waiting for them. Trust that they have heard you and allow enough space for the animal to reply. You are waiting peacefully and are not rushing the communication.

Now it is time to ask a question. Imagine your question floating within a bubble and send it to them. Trust that they have heard you, and wait.

Keep the question very simple and focus on the feelings and reason surrounding your question.

Ask OPEN questions. Closed questions will only allow the animal to respond in Yes or No. For example, "Are you hungry?" is a closed question."
"Where have you been finding your food?" is an open question.

Next comes the trusting part. Sit in silence after sending your question accepting they have heard you and stay in this loving energy.

See their response in a bubble as it returns to you and pops open with a reply. Again, it may be a thought, feeling, image, sound, taste or just a knowing. Often it can come quickly before you have even asked the question as they are reading your thoughts and excited you are communicating in their language.

Next just feel everything that comes to you. Do not think about it or try to engage any logic just allow the communication to wash over you. THIS TAKES PRACTICE, so if you do not feel or sense anything the first time, do not give up. Remember, your intention of making the communication is clearly heard and felt. TRUST this regardless of what you may or may not have received.

Before ending the communication always ask if there is something else the animal would like to share.

ALWAYS Thank them for this connection and leave them with this beautiful white light of love energy. Write EVERYTHING down in your journal. You can repeat this in a day and begin to piece the messages together. Even if this animal does not return they will know you are making an effort and they will feel your love energy.

This is a wonderful way to speak with animals that are missing. It takes commitment and practice, but ALL can do this.  Always keep a journal and be sure to TEACH OTHERS as this brings tremendous understanding for both the guardians and the animal that is missing.

Added Note: As a professional animal communicator I am never certain if the animal will return. I have had cases where the animal explains they left on their own free will. The home environment may have changed, a new animal moved in next door, the type of food has been switched. It can be for any number of reasons. I have had animals tell me that the people were always fighting, or they were preparing to sell the home and the animal left before they were uprooted. Some return after they went on an exploration and some never come back. There may be a health issue or the animal is physically unable to return, there are numerous reasons and we may simply never know. I always explain there are no guarantees, but just by making the effort the animal knows you are trying and they feel this as LOVE energy. It is a very powerful energy that calms the aching heart and lifts the spirits. ALL people can do this and I encourage you to begin to use your ability to send love to all animals in need.

Just Dive In…You'll Learn to Swim Later

Survival. As we continue to face economic hardships, mounting health problems and global warming where can we look for guidance? Should we look to the media with its parroted news flashes bought and paid for by corporate leaders? Should we look to government officials that are sitting upon their thrones of authority, clearly they must have the answers. Or perhaps we should just follow the paths of our ancestors and stick close to the wisdom of the family tree, after all this takes the pressure off of actually thinking for ourselves. How about following your intuition?

in·tu·i·tion
noun
intuition
the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.

How can anyone hear themselves glued to TV, Internet, I-Devices and the daily addiction to social media?

Throughout my life I faced many storms and I do not pretend to know all of the answers, but I have learned to navigate the turbulence by tuning in. Can intuition really be a tool we can use for survival? Of course and it begins with meditation. I have included a simple link on How to Begin below.

Life disasters such as job loss, divorce, a death in the family, illness, depression, etc. can appear upon your horizon like a turbulent storm. With it comes a tremendous life altering calamity, that for many, may seem beyond their ability to survive. They may turn to family and friends for advice, cruise the internet, ask their community leaders— but in truth, they must make personal decisions by following their gut. We must learn to exercise this ability to soften the static input and listen to the guidance waiting within.

Anxiety and self doubt stop many in their tracks. They spend hours, days…years listening to others and stay rooted in toxic relationships or negative energy fueled by their depression and inability to really LET GO and TRUST their intuition. How do we break this cycle? By DIVING IN and learning to swim later.

It takes only 15 minutes daily of silent meditation to connect to your higher self. This will bolster and encourage you. Self empowerment will lead you to a place where you can ignore the naysayers and move forward with your head held high. You CAN do this and no one is stopping you but yourself.

I have watched many people stuck doing the same thing year after year too afraid to chart a course and swim to higher ground. They complain about their miserable lives and do nothing to improve it. They will list a multitude of excuses as to why they cannot achieve their goals, and in actual fact if they put as much energy into DOING instead of thinking, they would find themselves much happier beings.

Survival is becoming harder and we as a people must learn to think for ourselves. But if we really sit in silence and tune in we will realize we are never alone. A multitude of guides and helpers are there to help you and will never leave your side. Begin today with a positive affirmation, look your situation face on and say, "I am a beautiful person and I will seek my happiness by being true to myself. I will begin in silence and I will learn to ignore the chatter and welcome the guidance that has always been within me— my intuition."

Red Coral Messenger

Living by the sea has taught me many lessons. I have learned that storms come bursting upon the scene without warning. The winds cause the ocean to heave and grown as the waves become whipped up in a frenzy. The birds take cover as the clouds grow darker. Much like the tempests that beset man time and again.

The storm ravages the sea bed and hurls it onto the beach. Marine creatures and plant life are ripped from the safety of their everyday lives. It is the natural rhythm...it is the heartbeat of our planet. The coming and the going. The birthing and the dying.

The storm begins to pass and the birds slowly return to forage on the bounty now washed upon the shore. They call to one another as they squabble for the choicest selections. The clouds quietly depart as the sun comes out from her hiding. The day returns not missing a moment or a second as the waves keep time sighing… in and out…in and out. Life goes on.

As we move forward along our journey we can begin to see that much like nature we too are carried along in the storms. We face the onslaught, the battering down and the recovery. A divorce, a loss of income, a death. Our emotions become swept up in all of this and if we are not careful we become ill.

Meditation is not the "end all be all" answer to our problems, but it is a wonderful tool that can help you weather the storms. There are days when your emotions are brimming and you cannot contain them, nor explain them. You are feeling this uncontrollable energy that overwhelms and ravages your sea bed and tosses it up upon the shore. Scattered memories, floating missed opportunities, and bits and pieces of dreams that will seemingly dissolve leaving you feeling empty and powerless.

If you find that you are waking daily to these overwhelming emotions then perhaps it is time to listen to your body as it is calling to you. Let them out yes, but connect with what they are telling you.

If you are able to sit beside a shore then find one. If you would rather do a walking meditation then find a body of water and slip into this energy–feel the natural pace as it connects to your heartbeat. If you cannot do this then find a natural sea sound audio file, put some headphones on and quietly let your mind float along the sounds of the waves. If you are able– look  for elements from the sea such as red coral, shells …anything from the sea that holds the natural energy to use it in meditation. Perhaps you live near a river, a waterfall, or even a park water fountain. Draw close to the energy of water. Soak in a tub, stand in the shower or find a pool and immerse yourself. Connect to water and all of the healing properties it holds.

After you locate your special place with water, begin meditating with purpose. If you are doing a walking meditation then simply do this with your eyes open – the method is still the same.
Begin with a prayer or invocation for protection and blessings and state your intention- "I would like to connect with the energy of water. Please help me to blend my spirit with the healing elements offered to me and allow me to hear the message it contains." Slowly begin breathing and feel the energy of the water. Let all thoughts dissolve away and just become one with the water. Stay in your meditation for 15 minutes. When you are finished say a prayer of appreciation to the water and the universe and close.

As a side-note, I like to use red coral as it has that wonderful property connected to our root chakra and provides an excellent grounding effect that is so necessary when dealing with emotions.

The universe has provided many ways to find inner peace. Meditation is a simple tool that can be used by all ages. You can do this with music, in silence with your eyes open or shut. Some do this alone or in a group. It's not important which method you choose– only that you DO IT.

Raise Your Vibration with THOUGHT

Where is your inner harbor of peace? If you were to close your eyes and imagine a place of total tranquility  –what would you see?

I recently asked my students this during a meditation class. For some it is a beach, others beside a mountain and for others it's in a garden. No two answers are ever the same. This is because we are each such diverse creatures. If I were to lead them on a guided meditation how would I know where to take them? Oh, of course they would follow along as I take them into a garden or along a beach foot path or even under a waterfall. But I am trying to help them find their OWN special place.  And they can do this by looking within.

You can find your secluded haven by rewarding yourself with quiet time alone. Take a walk, ride your bike…or just sit in a room by yourself. Pull your mind away from the struggles of the day and think of a place that makes you feel calm, safe and secure. Can you feel your energy shift? That was your vibration lifting. Yes, you actually raised your vibration by THINKING of a place. How can you use this positive energy in your life? By allowing this thought of this beautiful resting place to inhabit your daily routine.
As you go about your day learn to find moments of escape. You may be sitting at your desk, in traffic or waiting in a noisy supermarket. Whenever you need to calm yourself take a few cleansing breaths and think of your special space. This will help you to raise your vibration and remove negative energy that may begin to swirl around you as you become tense with anxiety.

The more you visit this retreat the better. You are becoming pro-active in training your mind to bathe in positive beautiful thoughts. It feels good and your body will feel lighter, your mood will seem more bubbly. This is your vibration raising and this is you harmonizing with the beautiful energy of your spirit. This is a simple practice that everyone can do … all ages...all people.

Meditation can take you wherever you want to go and is a wonderful tool to "let go" of thoughts. Remember, thoughts are living things and you are the guardian of them. Learn this simple method of finding your quiet space that was designed for you alone and be a happier person. This happiness will spread to your family, friends, pets and to the world around you. Crystal Conversations

Months ago I was told by my guides that I would be attending a workshop regarding crystals. I sort of shrugged and didn't give it too much thought. It came up again and again in meditation almost as an urgent, "Don't question...just GO!" And so I told my spouse..."um yeah..the crystals are calling me, I need to book a flight." Luckily he's used to all of this by now and just smiled.

I was led to a couple in Blue Ash, Ohio and as I navigated my rental car to their home I felt myself settling into a zone. Never having driven down this road, you'd think there'd be some anxiety...yet it all felt so natural. The moment I stepped into the room I was among friends. I had never met these people or these stones... however deep within we knew each other very well. Everyone attending was local. I was the only outsider– or was I? We all seemed to complete a circle.

As I listened to our competent instructor sharing her insights, I was moved by her compassion for the rocks. She and the stones were excellent communicators and I marveled at their ability to teach. Her husband sat beside her and offered assistance and they blended seamlessly and it warmed my heart. They truly have a deep appreciation for these living entities of the earth.

The crystals were speaking and as the workshop progressed, they carried me along in a river of love– love for myself, the students, the teacher, the universe and especially for the crystals themselves. For they were very much alive to me and I found myself in tears among these wonderful loving friends. My guides were beside me throughout the seminar and at times I felt as if they were dancing with joy.

I laughed continually and felt my cheeks hurt from smiling. I felt such elation surrounded by this energy and as I switched partners for each lesson, I gained a greater insight to the diverse qualities that make us so individual. Like the crystals that allow themselves to be used in this way, I saw the connection that each of us can bring as we work together.  We all have unique gifts and when we blend for the highest good, well...it is amazing what we can do. Is this why my guides urged me to come? Was this part of the lesson? It wasn't in the book!

Workshop and home of The Crystal Guy
As the workshop came to a close I found myself wishing it would never end. What was it that kept me so filled with heightened energy? Is this what it feels like when you raise your vibration? This incredible glow of love has stayed and I am meditating with such peace. I look forward to sharing all that I have learned as I know that I was led to this class for a purpose. Yes, I am more informed about the healing properties of crystals - but more importantly I was reminded that we each carry our own abilities. If we join together and embrace this loving energy within, then together we can create magic. This crystal clear connection is something you can find for yourself. Start meditating and learn to work with these amazing energies and like me you may just discover a few more friends.

Mystic Filters Who Are YOU Listening To?

Who's voice are YOU listening to?
Is meditation just for spiritual people? Why would anyone need to learn how to do something so simple? Life is made up of many different species of people, well maybe not species per say, but face it we are pretty animal-istic in our pack behavior at times:)

Some people choose to use religion and special prayers in their communication with God, Source or Is. Others choose silent prayer in their own way and do not belong to any organized religion but still feel their childhood upbringing regarding the church's views are close to their own, without the need to attend a service. Many have chosen to find a road to inner peace by venturing from one form of belief system to another. They're in an experimental phase and time will tell how they proceed along their journey.

Some non-church goers now exploring Tarot, Astrology and Numerology seem to have swapped out church for a new ideology. Some, not all, seem unaware that they are venturing into a pattern of thinking put before them by others. Who's voice is guiding them and can they honestly say that it is truly their own? I find each of these methods fascinating and feel they are very valuable tools in gaining knowledge from the universe. I encourage beginners to look within when approaching new avenues regarding this connection as I feel it should be approached with respect.

Some do not want ANY communication or attention to anything spiritual.

Others choose to interact with God, Source, Is or whatever name they choose, with the help of meditation as well as a link to their own spirit, guides and helpers. And some do not want to connect with anything other then their subconscious. This is all a matter for the individual, and I mention the many different avenues as an example of how each of us is on our own path. Does it make one better then the other? No, of course not, it just makes us different in our walks.

For those of you going through your lives as if you are in "survival" mode... you get up, eat, go to work, come home, eat, watch tv or read, sleep and start the day again in order to meet your physical needs. Meditation can be a wonderful escape from the gerbil wheel. I have spent many years on that wheel and I understand it well...but one day I got off:)

I teach Sæ-sii meditation because it has helped me discover new horizons and possibilities in my life. I was able to examine my journey as if seeing it for the first time in its rawest state. What makes me happy? Why do I choose what I read, watch or interact with? Why am I attracted to certain people? Why do I dislike specific things that have popped up in my life? How can I redirect my path to move with my passion of purpose?

Meditation can bring about a gradual change in your life that helps you feel more harmonious with the planet. Perhaps you will look upon a person struggling to open a door while juggling keys and packages and lend a hand, maybe your eyes will slowly open to the litter around that never raised its head before and you are stooping to pick it up. Simple acts of kindness to others. I used to kill every insect in my path...now I am aghast at my previous behavior, after all we are all sharing the planet and who made me the head Bug Squasher?
Because of your uniqueness – there is no way of telling how it will effect you, but I can assure you it will.

It is a simple 15 minute "time out" activity of doing NOTHING that will help create abundant self-love. This enables you to be peaceful and desire to make a difference in the world around you. It reveals your value and encourages feelings of inner beauty. You know best what is good for you, not a book or a TV or a video. Not a teacher at a workshop lecturing about principals and applications...just your inner voice who knows you quite well. Meditation is an easy routine and your beautiful spirit, your intuition and your inner guidance is waiting to meet you. Try it and see for yourself...after all YOU'RE WORTH IT.

Meditation Mojo

Why would anyone want to sit in silence and think of NOTHING?Meditate. meditate |ˈmedəˌtāt|
verb [ intrans. ]
focus one’s mind for a period of time, in silence or with the aid of chanting, for religious or spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation.  (Oxford Dictionary)
As I am beginning to look for a desirable location to teach meditation in my community, I am realizing that some people have some preconceived ideas about what exactly they will learn.

There are many forms that have different titles and if you do a search you will find various methods. I teach Sæ-sii meditation. It is not religious and does not require any belief system other than the fact that you desire to "let go" of all thought. Thought is a living thing and if you hold on to it you cannot be sure if the garden you have just imagined is in fact a spiritual journey or your imagination. I do not wish to place any ill thoughts toward other methods in stating this, it is a matter for you to choose what works for you.

Meditation can be achieved in many ways and in teaching this I respect that chanting or sitting in a certain position may be something that others find valuable. I teach a method that requires no music, no guided audio or instructor and no visionary cues. Why do I choose this method? Because I can go to my inner harbor of peace...and that is exactly where I go... at any given time. I can go while I sit in an airport and someone is talking non-stop on their cell phone. I can go when I am waiting in a doctor's office or sitting under a hairdryer at a salon while a television spouting non-stop negativity is placed before me. How? Because I have learned to switch off my mind without the need of any aids or devices or special seating posture.

How often should you meditate and for how long?
When I first embarked upon this I was exploring different techniques and I was meditating at least an hour a day and honestly I often just fell asleep. I tried videos, candles, music and read books and I began to feel nothing but frustration. Why couldn't I have these "magical" experiences...what was wrong with me? That's when I realized I needed to stop everything I was doing. All of this reading, watching, listening was just making my mind more active with the very thing I was trying to let go of... THOUGHT.
Now I sit in total silence in a comfortable position in the same room every day at approximately the same time for no longer than 15 mins. I say a prayer for protection (for step by step details see link below), I set my intention and then I allow my mind to come to complete rest. If anything floats in and I begin to give it attention than I am NOT meditating I am thinking, and so I will pull away from it and say "later...scoot" and then I just rest comfortably. When I first started doing this it was for mere seconds...than a minute...now it is 15. By doing this you are disconnecting to the chattering input of your brain and allowing your higher conscious to communicate with you. You may not even be aware of it, and that is the beauty of it. Your realization will come at other moments in your day when you are inspired and are able to move with confidence knowing your actions are purposeful and lead to a higher good for you and others.

All of my teaching centers upon how to move thought into action by NOT THINKING. Sounds bizarre huh? Well actually it is a process that takes time but once you begin to "let go" of all thought you will be able to open the door to your subconscious. I cannot describe what that will be like for you, as each of us is unique. Your experiences will be vastly different from mine as they will be from others you may encounter.

It is what YOU experience and what you learn from YOUR higher self that will give you the greatest joy. Meditation allows you to strip away the layers of day to day activity and have a connection to someone that loves you beyond measure...yourself and of course the guides that walk with you daily.
I hope to open my meditation studio very soon. The goal is to help others move their thoughts into action by the vehicle of their beautiful SELF guidance. They will be meditating in their own space at their own time and they will not need a group. The instruction will be giving them the confidence to make this effort to apply this to their daily walk as it will help them to move with their passion of purpose.

To learn how you can meditate please read my book Sæ-sii Meditation: How to Find Your Bliss in 15 Minutes a Day

Update: This was written in 2012. I now meditate twice daily for 15 minutes. Everyone has a time that works best for them, mine is at dawn and around 3pm. I have taught many workshops and I have written a book on meditation that will be published very soon. Meditation brings self-love that spreads world wide, I am ever the student of this magnificent ALL THAT IS.

Clairaudience and the Talking Osprey

As I wake to the cries of the Osprey living outside my balcony I am moved by it's alluring beauty. I am fixated by its hunting skills as he glides past me carrying breakfast dripping from his talons. I sip my coffee and after a light meal I lace up my sneakers still hearing his loud chirping cries. I begin my morning exercise as the Osprey flies overhead appearing to be joining me stopping to perch on tall trees and buildings.
I cross the bridge and gaze into the water looking for the dolphins that sometimes entertain me with their dazzling leaps and somersaults. I continue on my way listening to my headphones with the volume turned up high to hear above the noisy traffic. A squawking bird is making so much clatter it breaks my concentration so I switch to pause mode looking up to see who is making all the fuss. I shouldn't be surprised to find it's the large white Osprey landing on the light pole above me. I send it loving thoughts and tell it how beautiful it is. It begins to preen and I move on down the walkway. I continue my journey meeting the various shore birds along my way. There are spoonbills, egrets, herons, pelicans and many more that I haven't identified as yet. I circle back to climb up and over the bridge and two rays are gliding along splashing the surface. Surrounded by such beauty of nature effects me and I can feel my heart swell. My footsteps seem to float as I think about all of the life that has revealed itself to me. Are they just as moved to meet me? I return home to find the Osprey sitting on a branch near my front door. I stare dumbfounded as it wobbles it's head back and forth... is it waving to me? I shake my head and try to ignore this bird who seems to be contacting me.

In the mid-afternoon I take a break and step out onto the balcony as two of them now circle overhead swooping near me as they call out in passing. I spend the rest of my day working in my office and occasionally glance towards the beautiful Clearwater Bay. My windows are palm tree level and as the birds cross my vision I find myself daydreaming and not getting much work accomplished….

Now it is sunset and I am relaxing on the balcony watching the sailboats and tourists sipping cocktails on their chartered cruises. All is peaceful as I sink back into my chair. I breath in the salt air and something catches my eye and I look a little closer - yes it's an Osprey perched like a sentinel on the corner of a building nearby. I close my eyes and thank him for this precious gift of friendship. He sends me back his calm reply, "I have always been here."

It is in these moments that I am moved to meditation. I want to open myself to the wonders that have been beside me all of my life. Who are these guides…and why have they appeared in my journey …or have I appeared in theirs? Perhaps we are here for each other. I often hear messages during meditation and at first it was unsettling. Now I understand this gift and I am able to move past the voice to hear the message. I am being called to look closer at my surroundings. The Osprey is helping me open my vision to the needs of others.

Here is the  osprey cry   I am doing more research on Osprey Totems as I truly feel they are here for a purpose...have you made contacts with your guides?
If not then try meditation and set your intent on meeting them. It is one of the best ways to start. To learn how you can do this simple self-connection please read How to Meditate.

Special Today-Lobster Tail and Poodle Pudding

Why is it that the people who fuss and coo over their pets think nothing of eating a form of life that was butchered and cooked to provide them a meal? I have even been in the company of some die-hard animal rights advocates who were discussing their next protest while ordering their steaks well-done. If you can eat a cow why not a horse?

In 2005 while I was traveling in Israel. The food was ordered family style and began to appear on platters. Meat on a stick was the entree. We were told it was beef, chicken and lamb. Everything I sampled tasted exactly the same. It was day two with eight more to go. The landscape was breathtaking but I kept stepping over feral cats that seemed to pour out of the cracks. Every photo opportunity had groups of wild cats appearing. Many had missing body parts and were oozing liquid from their eyes and ears. They looked quite sickly. I just couldn't help wondering if they were serving cat in the restaurants. That was the last day I ate meat of any kind. It just all seemed like "flesh" that was once living and breathing and now on my dish. Yes, it's a personal choice and I do not fault anyone eating meat– I want to make this very clear, however I do often wonder about the fine line of some of the choices made regarding the welfare of animals on this planet.

I live in the Florida Keys where hunting for lobster is quite an attraction during Mini-Lobster Season. People come from around the world to net these crustaceans and I really dread this event. There is supposed to be a limit of only 6 lobster per day per person in our waters. Now let me ask you this...who is going to haul their boat, pay for hotel and meals plus fuel for only 6 measly lobsters a day? People come in droves to snatch their bodies off the ocean floors and I doubt if the authorities has enough man power to enforce the rules. And so as I was sitting in a salon recently getting my hair cut I was sickened by the conversation. I was staring at photos of the beautician's pet poodle plastered on the mirror before me. They were discussing how they don't like to actually watch the killing, but they love to eat them.
"You just pop their heads off," said the one lady.
"I know but they still scream even after their heads are off. Their heads are lying beside me screaming while I have their bodies in my hands," laughs the other.
"Yes, but they taste so good and the smaller they are the sweeter they taste."
"Yes, but there are rules you cannot take them under 3" because they need to get bigger."
"Well did you see the one in the paper the other day? It was so huge and my husband said they should have left it because big ones breed bigger lobsters?"
So let me get this straight, came my thought, they shouldn't eat the big ones so they can go back and breed bigger ones for them to eat?

Something does not feel right here. I know of people that spend loads of money on pets. Special diets, special toys and many cannot bare to leave them alone. They play music for them and dress them in little clothes. But these same people think nothing of eating animals. Would they eat a Dolphin or a Panda? Who made the rules of what is ok to eat and what is taboo? Man. Man has taken it upon himself to be the decider of who gets to live freely and who gets to arrive on his plate.

My meditation continues to teach that we are all part of something greater than ourselves. We are united with everything on this planet- every rock, plant and animal...and yes even lobsters.

Choose wisely and think about this connection. No one is advocating that we all become vegans- but we need to be careful about our respect for life. Man may think he rules over this planet. Let a storm wash away all he owns and let him sit upon the shore without material possession or family...or his poodle and let him think again.

Your Life is a Pizza-You Choose the Toppings

Throughout my life I have stumbled through many obstacles. In my youth I won two gold medals sprinting down a track...but I could not jump the hurdles. Life's detours seemed to find me at every turn. I had dreams of going to art school and an unexpected pregnancy seemed to bar my way. I say unexpected because I was using birth control at the time and this was quite a shock. Faced with the decision to abort or continue the pregnancy was life changing. Of course well intentioned advice givers were plentiful...but they all seemed to be saying things that contradicted one another. How can anyone faced with such an enormous decision hear their inner voice when they are surrounded by the opinions of others? When the dust settled I was left alone with my thoughts and for me it was a quick and easy choice- I was having a baby:) He's an amazing 21 year old 6' 4" bundle of love now and I can't help but wince when I think of the advice of those around me. Of course they meant well, but honestly, it was none of their business. I only wish I had been meditating when I was faced with this, perhaps I would have avoided a lot of self doubt. Abortion is the choice for many, many women and I strongly feel it is a PERSONAL decision and I honor and respect that right. It just wasn't an option for me- end of story.

my baby
Daily meditation connects us to a wisdom that is greater than anyone you can reach on the telephone. Life's paths leads to many hills and valleys. Using meditation can help you discover your strengths and weaknesses enabling you to walk with purpose and perhaps stumble a little less. Do you want to remove yourself from a toxic relationship? Is there an area in your life that you need to regain control of? Are you happy with who you are? If not, then why not still your mind and begin to practice meditating in silence? By removing the noise you will begin to hear the guidance that has been waiting all along.  Start finding your inner beauty that is waiting to be set free by unraveling the onion skin of self doubt. We're all a work in progress and we can make choices by adding or removing anything we wish. If you want to vent with others go right ahead- if you want to have a pity party- no problem, this again is one of many choices.

You are a beautiful being who is blessed and unstoppable! Begin today...forget about yesterday and start fresh with an attitude of self love. Go relax take some cleansing breaths and find your inner voice as it grows stronger cheering you on. To learn how to find your inner harbor of peace please click How to Begin.

Crying Voices Open Quiet Minds

A guiding light
When is the last time you seriously looked at the people who are suffering? They could be your neighbors, family members, acquaintances or strangers...but they are hurting.
My 10 year old granddaughter is fighting a very rare disease. I will include more info regarding this at the bottom of this post. She is not alone, there are so many people facing their own personal storms. You yourself have varying degrees of stressful situations you face daily. Where is your safe harbor of peace? How can you wade through the agony of daily chaos? It starts within.

I have had many trials in my life and there have been plenty of moments when I wanted to throw in the towel...life can be so un-bearing. It was when I began to meditate daily that I was able to see the glints of sun shining through the clouds. It was when I understood that meditation should be approached as a personal commitment to MYSELF. This is not a race - there are no blue ribbons. This is a way to help connect to a deep wisdom that lies within everyone - yes EVERYONE.

One of the most amazing discoveries was my yearning desire to help others. I thought I had embarked on this personal exploration to understand myself better.  But, as you begin to truly love yourself there is a natural desire to share this.  Meditation opens the quiet chambers of your mind to reveal the needs of others. Why? How? How can setting aside 15 silent minutes daily make you want to help others? You are clearing away the noise and debris of your busy world in order to hear others crying out. Those voices are connected to you and they are a part of you. By quieting your mind and heart you will learn to listen to your inner voice that has always guided you. The next step may be more difficult at first...learn to MOVE your thoughts into action and DO something about what you have heard. You will find that once you begin down this path more twists and turns will appear. Each path brings greater understanding and tremendous joy.

Begin today and look toward the sun shining through the clouds - follow that light and begin helping others to find their own harbors of inner peace.

The disease mentioned above is Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiactric Syndrome (PANS). Triggered by “strep”, her immune system mistakenly attacks part of her brain confusing it with the strep antigen, thus creating a neurological inflammation causing her to have debilitating “episodes”. Her condition has deteriorated to the point that she is unable to attend school on a regular basis. She is currently writing a book to bring awareness to this disease and yes, she does meditate:)

Visits from Loved Ones in My Dreams

My parents 1946
I didn't want to wake. It seemed my dreams were far better.  I had been enjoying my visits with my loved ones that have crossed and sometimes felt more lonely upon waking. My dad and his laughter my mother and her sparkling eyes and my brother with that boyish grin. Has this ever happened to you?
Realizing that my loved ones are still around me has helped ease my pain...but it was a process. I had followed that wobbly truth that others had told me... "No, we don't have the answers, God will tell you later...maybe...after you die." How is this supposed to comfort anyone? Why would a loving creator stick a clause on the end of a death certificate?

Peace has come in knowing that the physical embodiment of my beautiful spirit is but a temporary vessel. The vessel was meant for a short duration compared to the entire journey. This is a merely a small part- and for this portion I wear blue eyes and have dirty blonde hair that will gray... eventually.

If we truly embrace that we live eternally then we should be all the more excited about our visit here at this moment. It's 2012 a time when our technology is at its best- medical science has seen enormous transitions and our life expectancies have stretched longer. This is not a time to be at war with one another, to squabble amongst ourselves over petty unimportant issues. It's a time to look around and see how each of us can make a contribution to our communities, our animals and our planet.

If you have spent days agonizing over the death of a loved one, I truly send you my deepest condolences. And I hope that some day you reach a place where you can breathe deeply knowing they are all around you. Reassurance comes in stages and the process is unique to each of us. For me I know in my heart I am loved and those that have gone on want me to know they will see me again - they are merely a thought away.

Yes it is a day by day existence and there are many stormy days ahead maybe it's time we learned to smell the rain and appreciate its cool waters. Live your life with passion. Continue to build relationships- be kinder, trod lightly on the soil and send love to all that need it. You are but one vessel among many. Living in the now and knowing you are here for this moment may help you make a difference in your world.  This is YOUR time, this is YOUR day. Make the most of it and let your loving energy shine brightly. You are not alone and your beacon of hope will call out to your loved ones who have passed and they will gather near you...you don't have to wait until death to feel their love. There are no hidden clauses. Open your eyes to the possibility that you can rise and have your dreams, you only need to wake up.

Much of what I have learned has come through meditation. If you would like to learn how you can find your own path please read How to Begin. You can do this for FREE without the need to attend a class or buy a CD.

So it's your birthday...big deal

I found myself waking one morning to a frantic phone call from my sister. Her husband had stopped breathing during his sleep and she performed CPR and alerted 911. Her heroic efforts helped give him only 2 weeks to live as he was placed on life support and finally passed only 8 days ago.

I am blessed to have a very stable loving relationship and I was able to purchase a 1-way ticket to fly to be by her side. I watched the doctors grim faces as they updated her daily with reports of his decline until he passed. He crossed over at home with his family and loving dogs by his side.

My spouse has packed up our office and belongings and we have decided to stay with her for the time being. I do not know the length of this stay...I only know that I am needed. As children we dreamed of owning horses and I find myself on a 13 acre farm with horses that need feeding, brushing and stalls that need cleaning. Back home (in the Florida Keys) we travel often on business and I am unable to own a pet dog (I so desire)...and I now find myself surrounded by a mixed dachshund-terrier named Molly and a black lab named Ace that are hurting as their beloved master has passed. We now take long walks together and my steps keep time to their wagging tails.

So many lessons I am learning daily. To understand that I live surrounded by love with a mate who is confident and SOLID in himself allows me to just flow freely. How beautiful and how natural this all feels to me. To be able to cut through the pettiness of daily mundane BS putting aside unnecessary stress to be of use to a fellow human...be it my sister or a neighbor is so rewarding.

There are many holidays, reunions, graduations, birthdays and celebrations - but there is only ONE that trumps them all...death. (And yes, I know his Spirit is all around and I feel his presence, but her pain is raw.) I am starting to see that people take these celebrations with so much focus that they feel hurt if we do not acknowledge or make a fuss... if we do not share in their delight. When you are surrounded by a grieving loved one you realize that celebrations come and go but that the physical existence of THIS day is precious. Yes, we can rejoice with others and send cards and smile, but when you know someone is grieving learn to not take it personal if they cannot raise a toast. We must take stock- give love, embrace love, BE love everyday. This is what I want to breathe in daily.

Meditation has given me this insight. To learn how you can meditate without any CD's or guides for FREE please read How to Begin

Man Made Hell = Man Made Fear Conclusion

continued...
The Down And Dirty Church was the last one I attended. It was a place filled with broken people, some fighting addiction and others just sick of the other churches on the menu. This wasn't a church my parents would have understood at all. There were no pews anywhere...only round tables with tattered people drinking coffee and sharing their troubles. Some were dressed in their finest and some were homeless and rarely bathed. It didn't matter to anyone what they looked like... they all blended together. I was humbled by the many acts of kindness I witnessed and yet I still remember the frustration of the pastor as he stood speaking to the people regarding the war in Iraq. He said "People wake up, don't you realize that there are mothers and fathers of our enemies that are praying to God as well to save their children from our armies? Don't you get it? God is not American and he isn't a democrat nor a republican." The people shook their heads, as this was too hard to fathom. How could God not answer our prayers and save our children? God was a Christian after all and of course He was pulling for our side…wasn’t He?
As a freelance artist I worked for many clients. In 2004 the local Jewish Community Center hired me part time creating brochures, logos and some ads. The phone rang again and suddenly I was working for a magazine called the Friends of Israel, it was a Christian magazine that was started in the 1940's to fight anti-Semitism. So, oddly enough I found my week split between these two dynamic passionate organizations. It was through this connection that I was able to arrange a meeting and they actually sat down together (unheard of in my neck of the woods) to share ideas on how they could work together. Funny, looking back at this I remember feeling as if I was some sort of ambassador - for people rather than doctrine. And then to my surprise the Jewish leaders sent me to Israel to work as an artist with their sister organization teaching them my graphic skills. Nineteen people of Jewish faith and me...the un-Jew. The leader of the organization I was attending with, asked me to lead Shabbat on the southern part of the wall in Jerusalem. Huh? I asked, hello I'm not a Rabbi and by the way I'm a woman...why me? "Because you are the most spiritual," he said. He got this impression most likely because the touring bus we were riding in would often hear me cry out “Hang on, we need to make a pit stop…Jesus did a miracle over there.” This of course made them think I was a Jesus Freak and I explained to them that my faith in God was not a religion I followed but actually just my way of life. I tried to spread that light wherever I went.  I continued in my hope that men would see past their dogmatic beliefs in their personal views of who or what God was and just learn to truly help one another. I quit the church and watched many friendships evaporate almost instantly. I am still a bit surprised by this. All of their preaching about God is love and love thy neighbor only to be tossed aside like stale wine. All of their talk of helping their communities while they pushed for bigger recreation facilities for their church members. All their talk of unemployment rising as they organized ski trips and fancy social gatherings. Incredible yet very true and still continuing.
I then walked with uncertainty...would God punish me? Would I now be counted with all of those poor sinners that were going to hell? I was taught since birth that I was born with sin and needed the blood of Jesus to wash me clean in order to be accepted by God. But now I was naked and I no longer prayed to the big J. He seemed to me a man that some powerful people put up front as a deity to make themselves more worthy than others.
Soon after my trip to Israel I developed a severe pain in my right leg. I went to many specialists and it grew worse. Two years went by and still the pain remained. On the off chance that some herbal hippie might be able to help me, I attended a symposium in northern California. Unknowingly, this was my first step toward breaking free of a belief system that had imprisoned me since birth. Something happened to me there that is still hard to explain. Let's just say I met a woman who gave me an energy massage that opened my eyes to looking deeper within. She spoke of seeing my aura, my guides and how strong I was spiritually. Um...yeah, sure right. She told me I was to ask the voice within to lead me to learn how to connect with my higher conscious and that it would all be told to me. This sounded like gypsy talk to me and I smiled and left her little tent thinking she was probably high on weed. She said she had spoken with my guides and that I was a very strong healer. Yeah? Well then why the hell was my leg racked with chronic pain? Healer... me? Maybe she didn't dial in the stars and line up the moons correctly... or maybe one of her crystals had a crack in it.

Two months later the pain had miraculously vanished and I was meditating daily. I started to listen and tune in and I became aware that a tiny voice that I had thought was just random had actually been with me as a small child. When life was hard and my parents were fighting I used to go to my special thinking spot and this voice comforted me. Years later when I was in an abusive relationship this voice helped to lead me to safety. I never gave it much attention; it was just always there.

Through meditation I was able to understand who these guides were and now I ask and receive amazing insight.  I have learned that God is not an entity in human form. God IS. Lord IS. Source IS. All of this is not for one country or one species. We are ALL connected in this love of IS. Every blade of grass, every mountain, every grain of sand and every drop of water IS a part of this and every time I look into the eyes of my pet I am looking into the eyes of God or whatever you call Source. And every time I look into the mirror I am seeing a part of IS, wow, that alone would have rocked the church into burning me at the stake most likely…and in New Jersey too!
I was able to break free from the rules and regulations and words all written by man and seek this connection to the Spirits that walk beside me. No heaven or hell to fear only love and truth in knowing life is eternal. Yes, I have been visited many times by those that have crossed over (including my family and loved ones) and each time I am left with a morsel of realization. This connection to my higher conscious has allowed me to love myself in a way I have never experienced. I am worthy, I am beautiful and I have so much love to give to others.
For the many, many people that continue in their religious quest I take nothing away from that and I do not wish to have you think I have negativity towards you. Each of us has our own journey. For me I no longer live in fear of a man made deity that will smite me if I do not keep in step. I will continue to try and spread this love of myself to the planet around me. My connection to the spirit world is not new, I have always known that I would not die. I understood at a very young age that my physical self would expire yet my spirit would continue. Thoughts are... after all... LIVING THINGS. I got a little confused when I started to listen to the teachings and writings of a world where fear was used to control my thoughts and make others more powerful- after all they use our energy to make themselves greater. But that is in the past and I am able to give my energy to a planet that is crying out to all. It is through this connection to IS that I am able to move easily toward fulfilling my passion of purpose. Every day is a new challenge and every day I face a new understanding. I am so thankful I was able to escape from the man made hell and release myself from the fear that kept me from truly finding the love that awaits all of us...and it starts within.

Yes, I took a slight detour from my meditation experiences, but since most of this writing came through while meditating I wanted to bring it into the light:)

The Meditation Police

Ok I know this may be a bit absurd, but have you ever been in a beautiful loving meditation, on your very own island of peace only to be interrupted by a thought or "voice" that you KNOW is unwelcome? If your answer is no, good for you. If your answer is yes, then how are you dealing with this?

I have had several occasions when I am in trance that this will occur. My reaction is always the same. I send out this thought "YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE THEREFOR BEGONE NOW!" This of course always startles me back to full consciousness and my meditation ends.

I am only now writing about it, because I have learned from reading blogs and listening to several podcasts, that some people actually engage these entities in communication. This is extremely dangerous. When you "open" yourself up to the spirit world to connect with your guides, your intention should only be with the purest. This connection has to be done surrounded in love for your own protection. Listen to the advice of experience that your inner voice is whispering, no screaming...Don't talk to strangers! Allowing uninvited spirits to suck up your energy is like communicating with strangers via the internet or telephone. If it "feels" wrong... IT IS!

I have worked as an illustrator and designer most of my career. Being a designer in the publishing industry for years now, I have a working knowledge of the nuts and bolts of producing written material. My guides have been urgently insisting that I need to move past the production of other authors and WRITE as my gift is in communication. And so I have begun writing my own books. Great. Sounds exciting right? I sit, I meditate... and I'm given clear and concise direction of what to put chapter after chapter. Books of inspiration and overcoming adversity. Stories of encouragement to so many that face each morning in utter despair. They have no passion of purpose.

It was on such a morning that I opened up to my guides for this purpose, that a voice broke in. This is what it said "You are not a writer, you only think you are. You are wasting your time and you are inexperienced." This was followed by laughter. At first I just sat there feeling awful, and realized something was off. I am clairaudient and was not surprised by the voice, it was the "feeling" surrounding it. It felt FALSE. I finished my meditation and at first just felt empty. As I looked back on this I became more certain that this was a spirit that wanted to derail me. NONE of my spirit guides and helpers have ever done anything intentional to harm or dissuade me. I always get positive guidance and feedback, in fact I get CLEAR direction and if I am in doubt I meditate on it and it is clarified. But what happened on this occasion? Who was this voice? Where was my protection and who let this unwelcome spirit in? Where are the Meditation Police?

I cannot answer this, but I do know that I was given the immediate thought that this was FALSE information. We need to tune in for protection. We actually DO have meditation police, and they are beside us and sending us an understanding that we are NOT to engage or listen to false spirits. They do exist and they want to create with their negative energy, this is why we need to surround ourselves with the protection and blessings of our guides.
I am almost certain that I did ask for protection during my meditation, but I also know that I like to meditate at a time when the world is waking up - at dawn when my mind is just on the edge of being awake. Perhaps I did not ask for protection correctly. Perhaps I thought I had, yet only skipped over this request... moving forward to meeting my guides. I cannot say for sure.
ALWAYS ask for protection when meditating.

I have had this happen several times. Once I was even told that in order to have access to some information, that I needed to do harm to my spouse first. HUH? No, this should NEVER be allowed. If you find yourself in meditation and you are given ANY instruction to cause harm or feel harm towards yourself or others then you need to CEASE the communication. Be very careful and realize that if you did NOT invite them, then they are UNWELCOME and you should not allow any communication. ZIP. PERIOD. End of story!

Here is my opening prayer of protection that I use daily:
To my highest guides and helpers second to none
Bless me and keep me safe at this time that I sit
Knowing that all that is said, done and heard, felt or sensed in any way
is with absolute love as I blend myself with my consciousness
I wish at this time to be at one with my spirit

I strongly suggest that before you open yourself up to the spirit world, that you surround yourself with protection. YOU are in control of your mind. And for all of you that listen to those so called "expert" mediums, please do not think your guides are waiting to find you a "good" parking spot, because quite honestly they have much better things to do.

There is so much that awaits you on this journey and meditation allows you to move in a clear direction, surrounded in love. Be one with your spirit and listen ONLY to what you know to be truth. You are loved and you are here to spread love.

Meditation for Kids

I had the opportunity to visit with family this week. I am an active person and love to surround myself with projects that challenge me. This is not always easy when you are a guest in someone's home. I haven't owned or watched television since 2005 and the constant buzzing of this static noise is an irritant to say the least. As I observed this family of four in their natural environment I saw that the use of this droning device holds their minds in a trance like stupor. They might as well have been watching paint dry as the content of the programming was a waste of their time. Small children watching hostile police  arrests, supposed talent searches and survival game shows. No one seemed to question any of it - accepting all they viewed not as mere entertainment, but as fact. Scary.

I spoke to one of the children about meditation. She was extremely interested and open to the suggestion that you can "tune out" unnecessary noise. She sat wide eyed soaking up everything I shared. I told her she didn't need any special music, or any chanting just a comfortable position alone in her room. Knowing that it would only be for 15 mins., was perfect for this active 10 year old and after listening to my instructions - she was off to begin her first meditation. She even shooed away her puppy and closed her door as she wanted this time all to herself.

I spoke with her mom about meditation bringing increased awareness to ALL ages. The mother is not a reader and I had to just bring the information I know from firsthand knowledge. She then surprised me and asked if I could send her a book about it. Wow.

Three days later the child told me she was writing a story about children who are creating a contest to see who could come up with the best "save the earth" solutions. She listed turning off the tv at the top! I was stunned as she read me the story. Children concerned about saving the rainforest and conserving energy. Really?

I believe meditation for families could be the answer to so many of the world's problems. All my life I was taught education begins at home- well, yes of course it does, so why not include it as part of a family routine?

Last night I heard the father come home and he was a bit cranky. Dinner wasn't for at least an hour and homework needed to be done. Mom was trying to juggle homework, dinner and some other chores while dad did his best to not lose his cool. Suddenly a child jumped up grabbed her dad's hand and announced "Come with me."
He was not happy as he had just settled into his comfy tv chair and rolled his eyes following her into her room. The door shut and the next thing I heard was this...
"You need to learn about meditation dad. It will help you be less grumpy, because you don't even hear yourself when you speak to us in that nasty tone. You need to learn to turn off the tv and meditate. It will help you and it may even help the whole family!"
He began to argue with her and she shut him down. I worried that I would be rebuked for putting these ideas into her head. Luckily he came out of the room smiling... and switched on the tv.

Meditation plants seeds. It opens doors and it brings healing in so many ways. By teaching one member how to open their minds to new possibilities, it gives a bridge to this island of static noise that infiltrates their beautiful spirits. I will soon leave this loving family of mine, feeling as if I have given a gift this holiday season like none other. I truly can give PEACE this season and so can you.
