Raise Your Vibration with THOUGHT

Where is your inner harbor of peace? If you were to close your eyes and imagine a place of total tranquility  –what would you see?

I recently asked my students this during a meditation class. For some it is a beach, others beside a mountain and for others it's in a garden. No two answers are ever the same. This is because we are each such diverse creatures. If I were to lead them on a guided meditation how would I know where to take them? Oh, of course they would follow along as I take them into a garden or along a beach foot path or even under a waterfall. But I am trying to help them find their OWN special place.  And they can do this by looking within.

You can find your secluded haven by rewarding yourself with quiet time alone. Take a walk, ride your bike…or just sit in a room by yourself. Pull your mind away from the struggles of the day and think of a place that makes you feel calm, safe and secure. Can you feel your energy shift? That was your vibration lifting. Yes, you actually raised your vibration by THINKING of a place. How can you use this positive energy in your life? By allowing this thought of this beautiful resting place to inhabit your daily routine.
As you go about your day learn to find moments of escape. You may be sitting at your desk, in traffic or waiting in a noisy supermarket. Whenever you need to calm yourself take a few cleansing breaths and think of your special space. This will help you to raise your vibration and remove negative energy that may begin to swirl around you as you become tense with anxiety.

The more you visit this retreat the better. You are becoming pro-active in training your mind to bathe in positive beautiful thoughts. It feels good and your body will feel lighter, your mood will seem more bubbly. This is your vibration raising and this is you harmonizing with the beautiful energy of your spirit. This is a simple practice that everyone can do … all ages...all people.

Meditation can take you wherever you want to go and is a wonderful tool to "let go" of thoughts. Remember, thoughts are living things and you are the guardian of them. Learn this simple method of finding your quiet space that was designed for you alone and be a happier person. This happiness will spread to your family, friends, pets and to the world around you. Find Your Bliss and Raise Your Vibration

Wherever you are in your life is your beginning. No matter how old… how rich… or how educated you are – NOW is your chance to ask yourself AM I FOLLOWING MY BLISS?"

For me it was a slow awakening that the life I was living was in the service of my immediate family. Doing things for others is all very well and quite common as we join in relationships and raise children, but there needs to be a balance.  When you are unable to truly do the things that make you giddy with happiness then it is time to look again.

What is your bliss? It is the thing that makes your heart sing. Think back to a time when you were a child and allow your mind to drift over these carefree memories. What things or activities were you attracted to that really brought you joy? When you allow your mind to dance across these memories, how do you feel? Do you find yourself smiling or do you feel regret?

For most of my life I have been a commercial artist working for many clients. Yes, this was a reward in itself to be able to make a living doing the very thing I loved – creating art, however as I looked around my home I found not one painting…not one sketch. Why? Because my art had become a job, a chore. My bliss was amiss so to say. Gradually I learned through meditation to find my bliss and it has raised my vibration quite remarkably. You can too. Meditation can help you to unlock those hidden corners of your mind where your inner joy is waiting to be let out.

Go for a walk or follow my instructions for Sæ-sii Meditation. Quietly begin with an invocation to ask for protection and guidance and set your intention to "finding your bliss." After you are finished your meditation always remember to give thanks and blessings to the universe.

This is the intention I use:
To my highest guides and helpers second to none
Bless me and keep me safe at this time that I meditate
Knowing that all that is said, done and heard, felt or sensed in any way
is with absolute love as I blend myself with my consciousness
I wish for help at this time in finding my bliss

You may be given scents, visions, feelings or thoughts as you are guided to whatever it is that truly makes your heart burst with joy. Do this meditation as often as you can during the week for at least 15 minutes at a time and journal the experience. If you come away from it and say, "Well that was silly, I saw, heard and felt nothing." Then give it some time to present itself. When I first began, I was waiting for some earth-shattering experience and that energy of waiting and looking can actually block the guidance. So just set your intention and move your mind away from all thought- get into the rhythm of floating on a cloud of nothingness. Your answers may not come at the time of meditation but will show up unexpectedly and your heart will race with enthusiasm. Trust yourself and your team that works with you daily.

By doing this you will be allowing your guides and higher self to bring attraction to the energies that help raise your vibration. This may open your eyes to new possibilities- new dawns of enlightenment.

Many of us worry and fret over tomorrow - much like all of our loved ones. Those loved ones have now crossed over and are watching our journey...did the fretting and worrying help them? No.

Learn to look within and begin DOING the things your heart is longing to connect with. Maybe it is playing music, hiking, working with wood, collecting coins, traveling, writing, helping at an animal rescue center or volunteering at a food shelter. Helping others is a very natural way to raise your vibration as you are using the energy of love to propel you. No matter what it is, thinking about it is not acting upon it. Quietly look within and ask yourself how you can look at each day with promise and hope of a better tomorrow. Begin today to follow your bliss and when you do…share it.

Origin of Tears

Meditation: I heard a voice telling me that I needed to develop the art of scrying. I should use water. There is an organization doing tremendous work with this they are called ORIGIN OF TEARS.

Meditation: I struggled with just allowing myself to drift as people were talking outside my window. I watched a few lights flicker knowing they were my guides coming in to be recognized. I then decided to get my bowl of salt water and tried scrying. I am trying to learn how to work with water. I saw a few lights and nothing more. I closed my eyes and placed my hand into the water stating my intent that I wanted to connect with it. This is what came:
"We are one—  water is me and I am water. There is a deep love between us and we have known each other for millions of years. The water cares for me and I for it. It is in danger and needs my help." I assured it that I was doing my best to conserve and not pollute and I am trying to teach all that I can through my writing. I felt myself become emotional and salty tears fell. I ended my meditation with thanks and blessings to the universe.

scrying dictionary.com
divination of distant or future events based on visions seen in a ball of rock crystal. Divination based on an analysis of reflections in water, on polished metal, or on precious stones was practiced by early humans, who probably interpreted these phenomena as a vision of the spirit world.

It is now months later and I have to say, scrying takes a lot of practice and patience. I have never been a very patient person and this can be quite tasking in that department of my personality. But I would never have given it a second thought had that message not been given to me so clearly.

Origin of Tears? I have not found this organization, but this does not mean that it doesn't exist and if you know of this group please do email me. I did find however, a research paper entitled "Origin of Tears" written by a group that leads off with the statement "An e-journal of emerging humanities work." It discusses Darwin's theory along with the fact that humans are the only primates that weep salt in their tears.

These messages were given to me in January. I have been writing a young reader's story regarding the water crisis effecting the planet. It wasn't until I looked over my meditation/dream journals that I recognized the significance of their meaning.
Using meditation daily not only enhances our lives but connects us to the planet in a way that is hard to put into words. I believe the water is actually speaking through me as I write this book. The origin of tears will reveal itself in time. I believe it is calling all of us to "wake up" and understand that we have to share our natural resources with the creatures and plants that inhabit our planet. In order to bring harmony and balance back to our environment we need to be able to work together. This starts with communication. Begin using meditation in your life and find a way to connect to the planet that is calling out to you— who knows you may just find the origin of your tears.

The Fabric of Death

The unexpected death of her husband has left my sister hanging on a thread. They were supposed to spend their 40th wedding anniversary together this past weekend, but sadly there will be no more celebrations of this kind. The grieving process although necessary feels as if I am watching her slowly fade away. She has tried counseling but feels so disconnected that she no longer attempts to share her pain. If you have ever been around someone like this, you can attest to the ache within your own heart as you watch helplessly knowing it's a personal journey. (To learn more about this tragedy please read.)

Last spring when this occurred I was compelled to move my office into her home and I lived with her for 6 weeks. It was during this endeavor when I saw first-hand how the body goes into shock and denial. She would wake each morning hoping it had all been a bad dream. She stopped eating or caring and her nurturing spirit turned towards her beloved pets. Now she fears they too will get sick and leave her alone with her thoughts.

It was during his funeral as she was searching through his belongings when the idea first struck me. I had meditated the night before he had passed and he had spoken to me. I asked him how I could help his wife and his reply came very clearly.

"Hold her. She is a strong woman that can do anything in this world, but she cannot hold herself."

As she was rummaging through his things looking for his policeman's badge I looked at all of his shirts with tiny golf emblems on them. As a retired police chief he had moved into his next profession as a caddy master at a local golf course. His closet told the story. Policeman's emblems embroidered on jackets to country club insignias adorning his shirts. These would make a beautiful quilt, I thought. She could take this quilt and wrap herself in him. He could hold her once more.

Pattie proudly displays her handiwork
And so I spoke with my other sister Pattie, the one born with a needle and thread in her hand, and asked if she would help. Susan and Pattie have never really been close and I wasn't really sure how this would turn out. They are both talented seamstresses. I held my breath hoping Susan would agree to this, after all we were cutting up his clothes. Susan was honored that Pattie would take the project on. I sat back knowing my role was the bridge that had come up with the idea and had put the two of them together.
Pattie had to work with whatever Susan gave her— ties, shirts, jackets and even his pajamas. She cut, measured and hand-sewed non-stop committing all of her spare time to this amazing feat.

Meanwhile I arranged to have a sister's weekend in my home. All three came to spend some relaxing time in sunny Florida... this event happened to fall on the non-celebrated 40th wedding anniversary.  Susan needed us and all four sisters gathered to support her. There were tears and laughter and healing as we blended together and supported one another.

I had forgotten about the quilt as I knew it would take Pattie until springtime to finish it. But I was wrong. As Susan sat limp with emotions and tried her best to smile through her pain, Pattie handed her a package. Susan opened it with trembling hands and cried tears of joy. The quilt is a masterpiece and with it comes healing. Healing for a woman that is grieving for her husband, healing for two sisters that have never really connected. The fabric is woven from memories that will embrace our sister Susan and help bring some comfort to her broken heart. I felt myself overcome as well as I remembered when the idea was first given to me...did Lee help plan this? Was he whispering to me that day?

The next morning my youngest sister Dotsi did a meditation at dawn.
"I was doing my meditation,"  she said, "and seeing lovely colors and I was waiting for what the images would become when a stupid song kept playing. It was a Bee Gee's song and it really was bothering me as it kept interrupting my meditation."
"What was the song?" I asked.
"Something about emotions," she replied.
And so I did a quick search on the web and found the lyrics Dotsi had heard being sung as she was sharing a bed near our sleeping sister Susan.
In the words of a broken heart
It's just emotion that's taken me over
Tied up in sorrow, lost in my soul
But if you don't come back
Come home to me, darling
You know that there'll be nobody left in this world to hold me tight
Nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight
Goodnight
Goodnight

It now holds her every night.
Meditation is a wondrous thing to experience. I am now encouraging my grieving sister to try again. She had stopped as she feared being alone with her sorrow. I believe meditation has given me a clear channel to be able to act upon inspiring thoughts coming to me from my Higher-Self. I believe it gave Susan the ability to be held once more.

Raise Your Vibration Daily

Each day you wake up and slowly recognize thought. Thoughts are living things and as you allow yourself to reconnect with your conscious state you become more aware of your first thoughts. It could be about food, work, family or household chores…but nonetheless you are pulling your energy to a thought. This thought can either raise or lower your vibration. Seeking to raise your vibration will help you to become high enough to connect to the power of intention. Your island of peace and hopefully to your sweet spot where you feel happy about yourself and your surroundings.

If we were to incorporate a daily routine of waking with positive thoughts it would begin our day with a boost of internal energy. After all, we are all energy and we all vibrate on different frequencies why not strive to be your very best?

Here are some ways to help raise your vibration.
1. Become conscious of your thoughts. State your intention for your highest good- "Today is a new day and I am a beautiful person ready to accept what is for my highest good."

2. Make meditation a regular practice. Connection to your higher power and intuition will allow you to rise above all negative thoughts. It does not matter how long- it only matters that you DO.

3. Become aware of the foods you eat. Consuming foods that are covered in pesticides will make you feel weaker. Processed and foods filled with chemicals will actually lower your vibration. Seek to include organic, fruits, vegetables, soy, nut and virgin olive oil to help raise your vibration.

4. Reduce drug and alcohol consumption. Not only does this lower your vibration but you will find yourself surrounded by low vibrational people that enjoy this habit. Limit it or remove it from your life completely.

5. Tune into the music you are listening to. Does it have messages of love, passion, hope, forgiveness? Or are the lyrics filled with anger, hate and resentment. Words are powerful and can contribute to the way you feel about yourself and others. Monitor what seeps into your life, be it the car commute to work or the background radio in your home. Listen to whale song, there is powerful healing in the wisdom being given to us through these incredible beings. Keep it handy for doctor's offices, airport travel, fussy children and anyone dealing with depression.

6. Low vibrational television can derail your good intentions. The constant stream of negative energy is not good for you. Real life dramas with crime, violence and hatred interspersed with commercials telling you to buy a product to bring you health and happiness will lower your vibration.

7. Surround yourself with high vibrational people. Family members and friends that are always speaking with a glass-half-empty attitude can drag you down. Limit time spent with this type of community and connect with high vibrational people that are filled with happiness and joy.

8. Look around your home to see what you have chosen to view everyday. Photographs, books, art, crystals, plants and the colors in your home can all create energy. Learn about Feng Shui today!

9. Incorporate a lifestyle that  includes being OUT in nature as often as you can. This will raise your vibration and put you in touch with a community that is sharing our planet. Learn to listen, smell, see, feel and KNOW the energies that want to share life with you. We share the same natural resources and man is NOT above all life forms. Raising your vibration will make you more aware of the needs of others.

10. Wear or place crystals and minerals in your personal space. Some of these minerals vibrate at a very high frequency. By connecting with their energy your vibration will lift to meet theirs. Some high vibrational crystals are: Kyanite, Rainbow Mayanite, Zincite, Aura Quartz, Gaspeite, Moldavite, Ajoite and Bookite just to name a few.

As your vibration rises you will feel your energy blossom and grow as your light shines brighter. Your feelings of self love, confidence and well being will create a desire to love others and the world around you. You will find yourself doing more and more random acts of kindness. Forgiveness for the people that have caused you deep pain and resentment will drift away as you truly begin to see them as loving spirits on a journey.

Start today with an intention of raising your vibration and BE the loving energy that can help shed more positivity into our world.
